Cool! I thought it was great that the guy didn't alter his game even when his opponent picked him up and was holding him off the ground. He stayed calm and let his training win the day.

I pulled out my copy of ''The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna'' and was able to find a picture of your grandmother's uncle, Premananda, as well as a statement by the master that he was ''pure to his very bones''. I am delighted to talk to someone of your heritage.
I too, enjoy Buddhist philosophy but I find very little difference ...

Hi Joy,
I have enjoyed reading your input. Sometimes you can tell a lot about a person from only a few words. I find your comment on Yoga refreshing and was wondering if you have ever read anything by Swami Vivekananda and if so what your impressions are. His book on Jnana yoga in particular has had a profound impact on my philosophy of life and ...

Thank you for the clarification,
It is much clearer if I think of it as applied to sticky hands. It sounds like it is not one saying with two meanings but rather one saying with one meaning.

HI
During the September seminar I remember SiGong Rene going over some Wing Chun sayings. If I remember right, he said the most well known one was ''You come, you stayโฆ you go, I send you off''. I think this is the same saying as ''Receive what comes and follow what goes'' but I am not sure. For the sake of my question I will refer to these as ...

Nathan,
The last paragraph you wrote is close to what I am asking about. I have also heard the stories you mentioned and while I don't believe them, I don't rule them out of the realm of possibiliy. I am wondering if things of that nature are possible on a much lower scale. For instance, I have heard of Taoist masters being able to break the 3rd ...

Hi,
It sounds like you are saying that the internal energy is just that... internal. It can be used within the body to accomplish the ''perfect punch'' but it doesn't add anything to the punch beyond the laws of physics. I hesitate to speak in terms like mass and acceleration because the the human body in motion is an extremely complex, ...

Hi,
I was recently discussing the postings about the ''force of a punch'' when it was pointed out to me that it doesnโt include any consideration of internal energy. I was asked to consider why SiGong Reneโs punch felt like ''a needle in the spine'' whereas a studentโs punch felt like ''nothing'' in comparison.
This got me thinking about ...
