Hey guys,Is pak sao more of a pushing movement or more of a means to deflect an incoming attack? I notice that if I try it on someone who already has their arms out and they resist, it's quite hard to get ''in.'' This being the case, should it be used before someone has completely extended their reach?

thanks for the clip..i actually saw this one earlier when i was looking
around but one thing that i noticed was that the ''WC'' guy was jumping
all around...isn't that something we're supposed to avoid?

I heard that side stance shifting should be done using the center of
the foot, but doesn't this create more friction and resistance when
performing the shift, resulting in more effort being required and a
slower shift than say using the heels or the balls of the foot?

for me, tucking in the pelvis seems to make the spine feel a little more natural..if i don't i feel like i'm leaning back somewhat and putting too much stress on the lower spine. i'm just wondering how far should you sink? if i place the center of my foot right under my shoulder, the more i sink the more the weight is shifted forwards ...

I was looking into the history of Wing Chun and I've seen it said that Yip Man changed or ''simplified'' WC when he brought it to Hong Kong. How did he change it or what was ''simplified''?
